Most people, even most mountain recreationists don’t do winter camping. It is a blast and you don’t have to leave the incredible powder terrain at the end of the day. There would have been 4 of us on this trip but due to some emergencies the participant list became just 2. Kelvin and myself. We had clear, sunny, skies with little wind and very warm temperatures the whole week. Our concern was the solar effect on the snow. We knew we could deal with the ski terrain risk but getting in and out of the area by sled across several slide paths was going to be challenging. It took a sturdy shovel to dig through avalanche debris but we made good time and it worked out well. New, exciting, ski terrain was discovered and we tired ourselves out each day on untracked slopes and used up a lot of sunscreen. A few pics are attached.
