Ever fancied helicoptering into a remote Alpine location?..

…sharing fun times + climbs with like minded people?  Having the luxury of a cook tent supplied with stoves, tables + chairs, a gear tent, a shower + even a toilet!   Maybe felt you lacked the experience for a self-guided week.

Well look no further – check out this year’s Instructional Week of the Section Camp based out of Fairy Meadows with all that the Adamants + the Gothics have to offer!  “solid rock with exceptional opportunities for climbing”. The Adamant Group of the Selkirk Mountains provides climbers with a wealth of fantastic opportunities. The peaks here are mainly granitic and there are several classic routes of various lengths and difficulty to challenge all types of climbers. It’s Awesome!

The week runs 23-30 July and will be led by Brent Peters and an Aspirant Guide.  The week will be suited to people who have some experience in the alpine whether that be guided or self-guided.  It is deemed to be suited to advanced beginners to intermediate mountaineers who have done a handful of alpine and lots of scrambling or ski mountaineering trips in order to allow them to move from PD to AD level – intermediate members to increase their confidence in leading alpine trips at the PD+ and AD level.  There will be a few days of instruction followed by some peak days with the more experienced participants leading a rope with Brent and the practicum on hand to observe + comment, (this of course would be dependent on the skill level of the participants).

The initial estimate cost is $1070 – this is based on worst case scenario.  However, if the week is full + contingency flights aren’t required then it is felt the final cost will be more in the range of $900-950.
